At a press conference earlier today, the President acknowledged the war fatigue in the country and even his own unpopularity among the American public. Smelling fresh blood, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, took advantage of the timing and told reporters that today’s mixed report was a sign that it was time for American troops to come home.
“President Bush continues to urge patience but what is needed- and what the American people are demanding- is a new direction.”
For all the Democrats non-binding resolutions and half-baked bills that have absolutely no chance of survival, they’ve actually played right into Bush’s hands.
“I don’t think Congress ought to be running the war,” Bush said. “I think they ought to be funding our troops.”
And of course; they will.
You know, I like most Americans that voted this past November did so because I actually thought they would get together and do something about this war. But what have they done? What have they actually accomplished?
Nothing.
The Dems talk big about their opposition to the war but have voted consistently to fund it. C’mon guys; cut the cord.
